<silence> Good morning, Tulsa Lawn care community. Kevin here with kicking grass and taking names. Long hair home of the $5 first. Mow folks, how we doing out there today? I hope we’re doing great. I hope we’re enjoying the fall weather. Um, as always, uh, fall is here, leaves are falling, and it’s still time to think about your lawn. But why do we wanna think about our lawn? Because I said we need to think about our lawn. That’s why. Uh, no, that’s because you should think about your lawn. ’cause like, no matter what your lawn is doing, stuff doesn’t matter what you think. Doesn’t matter what. Like, no, my lawn’s dead. No, my lawn’s, no, your lawn is still doing stuff. 100%. You are wrong. And for the fact that you want to ignore your lawn and be like, oh no, it’s done. I’m not doing anything more with it, that’s fine.
And then you wonder why you have a fungus or some sort of critters and, and moles and all sorts of different things because you said, oh no, my lawn is done. Ha, it’s not. And that proves it. That proves it because you’ve got all sorts of pests, um, fungus, uh, weird new grasses now, stinky grasses, uh, all sorts of things going on. And you wonder why, what happened? Well, you gave up on your lawn. So it is crucial, uh, Tulsa lawn care community to have a final mow in that winter era. Okay? Uh, come fall, you may want to, uh, you know, it doesn’t look like it has massive growth. I know a lot of people are like, oh no, it’s gotta grow five feet before I mow it. That’s fine, I understand that. And then you just kill your grass because you leave so much, so much clippings.
Or it takes you three days because you wanna bag everything and your mower can’t, can can’t, uh, stay up with the, uh, amount of grass clippings that is dis distributed, uh, uh, between mo’s. So it’s not able to do all that, doesn’t have all the, uh, power and things like that. And you wonder why. And then you get all upset and bothered and you’re like, ah, it’s too much. And then you hire somebody that has stronger mowers, and then they come in and they’re gonna charge you an exorbitant amount, but you’re like, why? It’s just grass. You’re right. It is just grass, grass that you let overgrown grass that you let come and take care of, uh, take over your, your, your yard and turn into massive amounts and all that good fun stuff. So, uh, it, it, you know, mother nature wins in the end no matter what, no matter the design that, uh, men come up with or man comes up with, uh, to help make doing work in nature easier.
Uh, mother nature wins no matter what. Uh, you see it every day when you walk down sidewalks and things like that. Grass growing up in between the, uh, cement and stuff like that. So, Tulsa lawn care community, uh, it is easier to maintain and cheaper to maintain over the long run, uh, your lawn than it is to try to repair it or do big major, uh, projects at once on it. Okay? Uh, you get better results doing little things over a long period of time than you do. Uh, trying to do one big, massive cleanup or fix or however you want to phrase it and look at it and be like that. So, uh, that mow in the fall, that mow in the fall needs to be shorter than normal. Does not need to be a scrape in a bag. Uh, that will come, uh, in the springtime.
That’s when you want to scrape and bag all the winter debris and, and things like that off the neighbor, off the, uh, the lawn and stuff like that. Uh, but in the fall, you want a little bit lower. You want to, uh, expose that ground so it gets as much water and sun as it can, uh, so that way it can, uh, gain a lot of nutrients. It’s gonna need over winter to, to help keep the grass thriving. Even though it goes dormant, it still, you know, needs to have some sort of nutrients put down into it. And by, uh, cutting a little bit shorter, you expose more, getting it ready for that winter hibernation and things like that. So definitely a big must. And it’s, and it’s not, it’s not that big a deal, especially if you’ve been maintaining your lawn all year long.
Okay? You want to go all the way till the last really hot day, uh, of the season. Uh, here in the northwest, it’s usually till the end of October. Uh, sometimes we go into November, and, uh, just depending on how well you really maintain your lawn, you can go into December. Uh, after that though, you get pretty, uh, pretty done with all the lawns. Uh, and when I say go into December, I’m talking about you might, if you know you have a good number of clients, you might have one or two lawns that you, you would take into December. Uh, we have in the past, uh, you know, each year’s different though. Uh, most of the time. We definitely do go to the end of, uh, October, uh, for majority of the lawns that we maintain and take care of. So, Tulsa lawn care community do not hesitate to get your lawn taken care of.
Still, there’s still time and the leaves are falling. Uh, those are definitely something you wanna make sure you take care of off your lawn. Um, ’cause especially if leaves are falling now, uh, you’re talking about months upon, months upon months of leaves, uh, sitting on your lawn and, uh, killing your lawn. So, long story short, what it means is, uh, think of a cardboard box that you left on your lawn and you’re like, ah, not a big deal. Next thing you know, two weeks have gone by and you’re like, ah, lemme get that box. And you go and you pick it up and you all of a sudden have a bear spot underneath, and you’re like, what happened? It’s only just been there. Uh, oh, I guess it has been there two weeks, exactly two weeks of an ugly sightly cardboard box that’s in their front yard that you forgot about.
And even though you see it every single day when you come home and it just sat there and you didn’t think anything of it two weeks and it killed the grass, now you’re talking about three, four months worth of leaves sitting on your grass. <laugh> what? Grass? Okay? Those leaves became your lawn. And then with a good gust of wind, they’re gone. So, Tulsa lawn care community, make sure we get those leaves cleaned up, uh, that way we can, uh, water the lawn that way we can throw down some nutrients that way. The sun can do its work that way. Mother nature can process its stuff and, and you actually have grass come springtime. Uh, that’s, it’s, it’s not a lot of hard work, it’s just remembering to do it. And that’s probably the biggest challenge for most, uh, people about their yard is remembering to get things done about it.

So for some reason, if something that we have a date on needs an earlier timeframe to be done, that’s not a big deal. We can get it done.
