<silence> Good morning, Tulsa Lawn care community. Kevin here with kicking grass and taking names. Lawn care home of the $5 first. Mow, what is going on out there folks, we are sitting in December. It’s a beautiful crisp morning. We are enjoying the cool weather ’cause that’s really what it is. It’s not cold. I’m not complaining. I really do enjoy this type of weather. It’s, uh, quite enjoyable to do your outside work. Um, you got a nice cool crisp morning to kind of help wake you up. Uh, the afternoons are, are kind on the warmer side, so it’s not that bad. Uh, because of this cotton weather, we we’re still got some active lawns. Uh, especially our fescues right now. Um, they never need that much sunlight in the first place. So right in the middle of the day when some of these fescues are really, uh, uh, facing that sun, they’re actually getting some sunlight.
I’ve got a few prop personal properties. Uh, well, I say, you know, client properties, uh, that, yeah, the, the fescue, um, is pretty well covered, but I mean, it’s getting some sunlight in there. And, uh, like I said, they don’t, they only need around four to five hours of light a day. Uh, given the fact that we’re went out of nine hours. I mean, they’re getting some sun. Uh, so they’re still kind of growing and getting out there and, and showing the world what, what fescue can do, even in the middle of December. So some of you fescue lawns, Hey, you’re still going. We wanna take care of those lawns. We wanna make sure they’re looking good. Uh, no reason to have, uh, ’cause fe’s a, as I’ve said in the past, a very temperamental grass Tulsa lawn care. You wanna make sure that you take care of this temperamental grass, uh, by, by, you know, taking care of it.
There’s no reason to allow it to go at a crazy rate and let it go and fall apart and all this stuff. Uh, ’cause it can still grow and get tall. Uh, in the middle of winter, you come and you chop it down. You leave all the clippings there, you know, you’re going to kill all that excellent growth that it’s had. Uh, you just gotta be really aware of that and realize that, uh, rescue needs to be maintained even through winter months. I know it’s not what you want to hear ’cause you’re like, no, it’s cold out. We’re done growing. Well, you know what, you can think and perceive and say whatever you want, but the reality is, fescue’s still growing. Like, there’s nothing you can do about that. No matter how much you wanna complain. The only thing you can do about that is not take care of it and then just have a bigger bill come, uh, springtime because you need to, uh, resaw, reseed, read anything because you decided to be, you know, lazy. So folks, let’s still take care of that lawn. Let’s get out there and make sure those fest grasses are healthy and strong and growing. Now having said
That, leaves are finally starting to fall here. It’s absolutely amazing. So we have been waiting and waiting for leaves to fall. It’s been, I I, I don’t know, it’s an abnormal season for these leaves. Um, and, but the good thing is it’s been like no leaf has fallen and then bam, all my leaves fall off the tree at once and so I’m done. So that’s one good thing that’s going on. Some, you know, but those leaves that are hanging on, they’re hanging on. Hopefully they’ll do the same thing that some of these other trees have done. Uh, when it’s time to fall, the whole thing goes at once. If that’s the case, wonderful. If not, that’s okay. Uh, we’ll be more than glad to come and pick ’em up several times. If DEB, whatever we gotta do to make sure you guys are well taken care of. So Tulsa lawn care community, let’s get those leaves. Whether it’s fescue, which a high price, high maintenance type of grass, or Bermuda, low maintenance type of grass, uh, we need to get those leaves off of there. ’cause those leaves are one massive blanket and death to all grasses. Okay?
The one good thing about the leaves on top of Bermuda is Bermuda will come back for the most part. As long as you cut back the shade and it’s in a sunny spot, the Bermuda will come back. Uh, so that’s a good thing to know in half. Uh, so that’s something we definitely want to do, uh, is make sure we have our Bermuda exposed to as much sunlight as we can. Uh, Bermuda is finally going dormant here. Uh, very, very late, very late. Um, there. Some of this Bermuda could still be mowed just simply ’cause it, most of the Bermuda around here has been, has been, uh, quit being mowed for several, several months now. Um, so yeah, it’s had all this time to grow and most of it is not wildly out of control. It looks like maybe a week, maybe two weeks, depending on what type of unit you have, uh, worth of growth and stuff.
So, Tulsa lawn care community, you could do with another mo. Yeah. Uh, or you know, depending on how many, how much grass you have, depending how many leaves there are, you could even do a mulch, uh, as far as your, uh, leaves are concerned. Okay? Uh, and what I mean by that is there is a, uh, a mulch a or a leave to lawn ratio, okay? Um, you can have a lot of leaves and the bigger your lawn the better, you know, ’cause then, then you can just spread out your leaves and mulch ’em up and boom, you’re golden. Uh, you’re getting, uh, fertilizer all throughout the lawn and all sorts of good things that way. So that’s definitely something you guys would want to consider. Now, if you have a small lawn, you really don’t want to use the mulch method because, uh, you need to disperse those clippings over, you know, a lot of grass, okay?
And typically you’ve got that smaller lot, that smaller lawn. Um, all you do is you change it from one type of blanket to another. Uh, you change it from a light leafy pun intended, uh, type of blanket that covers everything to a heavy blanket essentially. That really doesn’t move, uh, at least, at least with the light and leafy one. You know, you have a potential that blowing off and, uh, moving on to the next lawn or, or down the road at least. So, toast, lawn care community, uh, let’s get those lawns cleaned up. Let’s get those leaves removed, okay? You know, worst case scenario, you’re looking at a two step process, alright? And this is, you know, if you have any like, Hey, I’m proud of my house. I wanna make it look good. Um, the first process is the removal of all leaves removal.
Like, get ’em gone. Wait for that big old drop and then push ’em off. Mulch, uh, suck ’em up, move ’em, debris, debris gone. The the second is, is a mulch. Okay? Uh, there should be a few more leaves left. Uh, you know, ’cause I don’t care who you are, you will never get every leaf off of the lawn. And if you’re somebody who’s like, oh yeah, that’s how you remove leaves, you get ’em all off. Well, wonderful for you. Uh, in reality, it’s just not really how it works. Uh, just depends on the day to be honest with you. ’cause sometimes those leaves are stuck into the ground, sometimes leaves you clean an area and leaves start falling, um, from other trees. Uh, or sometimes you clean the area and leaves from your neighbor’s yard is coming in. So you’re not gonna get ’em all perfect, you know, super cleaned up, all gone.
All right. That’s the truth. Uh, so there will be some remnants left of leaves. Uh, my suggestion then is to, uh, mulch what is left. Okay? And you’re like, what’s mulching and what’s mowing? It’s all the same. Yeah, essentially. Yeah, it is. You’re right. Uh, but you’re mulching of the leaves, breaking them, helping ’em break down a little bit faster. Getting that big giant leaf instead of one big giant edge. Smashing it up into smaller pieces. So there’s tons of edges. Uh, think of it like, uh, heating a potato up. Okay? You throw in a whole potato, it takes a while for it to heat up. You cut it up and throw it in. You got more surface exposure so it heats up quicker. So same idea. Um, you have a lot of, uh, leaf edges for, uh, mother nature to go ahead and start breaking it down and getting into it.
Uh, it, it does not help, uh, to have a nice big giant leaf. It’ll stay there for a lot longer than, um, than you would want. Okay? So kick your to take names. Lawn care home of the $5 first mow Tulsa lawn care community. We need to get this done, okay? We need to make sure our leaves are cleaned up. We need to make sure our leaves are securely put away and, and our lawns are free to be exposed to all the wonderful winter elements. Um, and if you’re one of those people that do mow their dormant grass, which is absolutely fine, wonderful and great, keep it up. Don’t stop. And you’re not one of those people that do, but you live next door to one. Look at your grasses. Why does their grass look better than yours, even in dormancy? Because they know it needs to be taken care of.
Why not set up a plan to where you pay your lawn guy once a month, beginning of the month you hit ’em up and then they just go after your long, all year long. You don’t have to worry about anything. ’cause you’re gonna have it worked out in your contract or not in your contract. You’re gonna worked out in your deal, your setup, everything that you’re supposed to get, okay? You’re gonna have it worked up that you’re supposed to get so many moss, uh, within uh, a period. Uh, in our area it’s about 26 moss. Anywhere from 26 to uh, maybe 28. Just depends on your, on your lawn. But it’s usually about 26 mos on average. Um, but yeah, it’s, it’s, it’s a great deal. You have it all set up. You pick your plan and then that’s it. There is no nothing. Absolutely nothing else you need to do unless there’s just an add-on later on that you want to do.
Okay? Um, and the add-ons would, would be cheap and just add on to the next, uh, uh, would be added on right then and there. So never anything you’d have to worry about. Cards on file.
