Speaker 1:
Good morning, Tulsa lawn care community. Kevin here with kicking grass and taking names, lawn care home of the $5 first Mo how are y’all doing out there today? Just wanna reach out to you guys and talk about leaf mulching. That’s right. Leaf mulching. I know you’re excited. I know you can’t wait to hear what I have to say. I know you just want to be like, wow, we love leaf mulching. It’s the greatest. Hey, you know, you’re right. And that sums it up. Leaf mulching is good for variety of reasons. Um, so our trees need leaves to get water and keep themselves cool and whatnot. Okay. I’m sure there’s actually more to it than I know. Cause I’m not an arborist. I am just a long guy. And in Tulsa we have trees and they have leaves. And then at a certain time of the year, they fall to ground. And when they fall to the ground, they tend to accumulate and they tend to cover up and they tend to kill your old grass.
Speaker 1:
So Tulsa law care community, I want to reach out to you and inform you. There are two ways to get rid of your leaves. Way. One is called leaf removal. When you rake or blow or tarp, or do all sorts of crazy maneuvers to remove Sid leaves from your property, completely gone leave. And then, you know, then you gotta bag ’em up or have somebody pick them up and then you gotta go throw ’em in the landfill. And the city gets upset and they try to discourage that and all that stuff. And it’s just bad, just, just all around a lot of work, lot of nothing, lot of yada yada, then there’s another way it’s called leaf mulching. It’s very scientific, complex and hard. Uh, it’s one of those, uh, out there ideas and not too many people are, uh, are aware of or fond of and, and long story short.
Speaker 1:
What I’m getting at is you take your mower, okay. And it’s gotta be one of them. High powered mowers, none of this little dinky, uh, tiny little engine power, my blades barely turn kind of mower. It. It’s gotta be one of those higher end, uh, mowers that the blades really move on. Okay. Cause you want, you want, these leaves pull our eyes. And sometimes, especially when they’re wet, they’re kind of hard to deal with. So, but you wanna mulch up your leaves and put them right back in the ground. There’s several benefits to, uh, to said mulching of leaves, Tulsa care community. One of the best benefits it has, the offer is it’s easier than leave removal. Uh, another, another great benefit is it is faster than leave removal stir than leaf removal.
Speaker 1:
Um, Ooh, an even better benefit is that it is way cheaper than leaf removal. Why you don’t have as many people, you don’t have as much equipment, you know, and if you do it more frequent, it’ll be better. Uh, so you wanna, you wanna really go after those leaves, you wanna mulch ’em up, disintegrate them and put ’em back into the ground. Uh, cuz another benefit of mulching leaves is it’s fertilizer. It is, it is free fertilizer. University of Michigan did a study on that. And uh, they found that it’s extremely beneficial to mulch your leaves. Now having said that, I mean obviously if your leaf to lawn ratio is extremely disproportionate, such as you get a good three or four or five or six inches of the entire lawn covered in full leaves, you need to Mo remove some, uh, yes, but I would not get, uh, too happy or too crazy about how much of those said leaves you removed you.
Speaker 1:
You wanna remove just some that way you can still mulch up some to some of the leaves to, to provide that fertil fertilizer and stuff. It’ll, it’ll have a much happier and healthier and greener and thicker lawn spring and summertime. And it’s amazing how it’ll benefit and work out. And it doesn’t take as long, you know, full leaf to, to decompose takes a really long time. But you know, you can get those mulched up leaves depending on their size gone and down and gone in like three to six months easy. Uh, so if you do it now by the time, you know, summer comes around, man, your lawn’s gonna be thick, happy, and healthy, uh, ready to really produce that green look and lush lawn. And you know, when you have a healthy lawn and it’s strong, it’s fed right. Uh, a Tulsa lawn care community.
Speaker 1:
You’ll you’ll really be outperforming out shining all these guys who are throwing down some chemicals and stuff like that. Uh, so lawn work is always a time consuming idea or a, uh, not time consuming, but you know, like time sensitive, kinda like, uh, you know, if you do a little bit of work now you see the fruits of your work later, you know, kind of like a 401k, you put it in early and, and you get a big outcome. It’s great. It’s wonderful. It’s one of the best ideas ever. Um, so just knowing that doing something now will benefit in the long run is one of the best possibilities that you could do for your lawn. And remember, you know, it helps keep your, your, your lawn service guys busy during the season off, you know, a little slower season. Um, you’re still generating a little bit of cash flow for a small business.
Speaker 1:
It’s, it’s a win-win for everybody. You still have someone coming out, checking out your property. I mean, there’s other things he can notice, uh, you know, you, other things pop up, uh, whether, you know, there’s an issue or holes or, or whatever, you know, maybe they find a drain thing for you and they can fix that. So back to the leaves, you know, mulching is, is extremely beneficial, uh, ver listed least half a dozen benefits there, uh, that will provide you with long term happiness with your lawn when it comes to the summertime. And then it’s a wonderful thing, cuz you just repeat the cycle all over again next fall in winter. So just grinding those leaves up smashing ’em right back into the ground and that grass is absorbing and soaking it up and just taking off like a, like a weed almost. Oh, Hey, that reminds me though. That’ll help also with weeds.
Speaker 1:
Uh, now don’t misunderstand me. It’s not your cure all just cuz you mul your leave. Doesn’t mean you’re having to come out with a perfect lawn, but it it’ll make it harder for the leaves to, uh, to germinate and stuff like that. Since you have all these, uh, natural reoccurring things going on into the soil and, and helping fight, uh, other things such as leaves, uh, taking on the weeds and just various different, awesome things that they do. Uh, university of Michigan, once again, did that study, uh, check it out, uh, look it up. You can, uh, read all about it and find it to be very beneficial, uh, out there in the Tulsa lawn care community. We want to make sure you guys are knowledge aware that way you have your, uh, curb kicking home, all looking its best, its finest. You got the, the yard all tidied up, uh, nothing.
Speaker 1:
And then, and then the other thing is, you know, your, your grass doesn’t stay as mushy. Once you get those, uh, leaves mulched up and, and stuff, they getting to harden and, and really show that it’s got some growth and change going and stuff. You leave those leaves on there and all winter long and your grass, you know, of course your grass dies cuz there’s no sun. And then secondly, your grass, uh, or your ground just stays really, really wet and moist. It doesn’t ever get a chance to dry out because the sun can’t penetrate the leaves. Uh, so leaves are a very powerful thing. They can be good and bad and we want to try to use their benefit as much as possible. We want to make sure everyone is aware and, and has the, uh, understanding and fortitude and, uh, aptitude to know the benefits that leaves can provide.
Speaker 1:
And I’ll say wonderful, uh, accessory to, uh, lawn service that your guy already gives you, uh, all the mowing clippings and things like that. Uh, so if you know, I, I, if you’re into organic Boeing, uh, kicking grass and taking names, lawn care is, uh, the number one provider of organic mowing and most highly Google rated company in the Tulsa lawn care community. Um, we want to reach out to you guys and under let you understand that, uh, we do provide organic mowing, uh, that is just a, a guy out there mowing on his own. He’s just, he’s all natural about it. Uh, he’s he’s out there. He’s, he’s, he’s spread and fertilizer just as he, uh, shreds them, uh, clippings up and uh, making sure the leaves go back to, uh, dust and, uh, really helps. And, and you know, when it comes to leaves, you guys can’t forget your flower beds, you know, I know you’re like, oh, I get ’em outta my flower beds.
Speaker 1:
Oh, blah, blah, blah, blah. But you need to understand though, those, those leaves in the flower beds, man, they, they keep it nice and toasty for, um, for the things that are in the flower bed. They, they need some leaves in those flower breads. They need to be kept, uh, warm and they need to be taken care of. They need to, uh, have all those wonderful things done for them. Um, we can’t just abandon them just because it’s, uh, fall and we’re like, Ooh, it’s cold. And we don’t like leaves. Yeah, I know we don’t like leaves, but Tulsa lawn care committee. Let me tell you, you, you need some leaves on the ground. Okay. Again, uh, just to mulch up and, and get your stuff taken care of, uh, is, is one. And then to provide, you know, warmth and some shelter for your, for your little buggers that are out there, uh, getting cold in the flower beds.
Speaker 1:
We don’t want to, uh, completely, uh, freeze them out and not allow them to have what they need to have, where they need to have it. We wanna make sure they all understand that we, uh, we are taking care of them. We are providing for them. And we are going to give the, uh, ground what it needs.
